Server 105 / Building bonus weekend

Time for another building bonus weekend :)

Monsters will give 15% increased XP.

Spell and skill softcaps will be less harsh - lowered the penalty for trying to increase past softcap (2 * requisite stat).

In effect from now until Monday 12am UTC.

The Ogre client received a significant update with a new UI theme, patch notes with screenshots available at https://www.meridiannext.com/ogre-client-update-version-1-0-4-4/.

General Development / New Meridian 59 room editor!

I was trying to make some new rooms for 105 in the old room editor and while we've fixed it up somewhat, it is still very frustrating to work with and new rooms take anywhere from 10-100 hours for anything more complex than a rectangle.

Instead for the past couple of weeks I've been working on porting a new Doom level editor, GZDoomBuilder, to work with the Meridian 59 room format (which is now significantly different from the Doom map format).

The first release of that project is complete, and anyone interested in making rooms for Meridian can download the editor at http://ww1.meridiannext.com/GZDoomBuilderRoo/GZDB_roo.7z

If you're interested in making rooms and haven't used the old editor before, contact me and I'll give you more information on how to use the editor.

Compiled rooms will work with the 103 or 105/112 source code.

Server 105 / Building boost weekend

From 4pm UTC on Friday 17th June to 8am UTC Monday 20th June XP and improvement rates will be increased by 20% each.

If there's enough players on Sunday (15 or more) we can have a short frenzy and possibly some monster invasions.

Server 105 / For those having trouble patching

If the patcher won't download the client, you can download the zip directly here: http://ww1.meridiannext.com/105/clientpatch/latest.zip

You should still unzip this to C:\Program Files\Open Meridian\Meridian 105\ so that when the patcher is working, it will update the correct location (anywhere else and it won't see the 105 installation).

EDIT: Patcher is working now.

Server 105 is now up and running, accounts can be made via the website https://www.meridiannext.com/play/ or through the patcher (select "105 Open Meridian Fork").

General Development / Notepad++ plugin for kod coloring/folding

Just finished making a plugin for Notepad++ to add better coloring and folding than is possible by using the User Defined Language settings.

The plugin repo and download links are here: https://github.com/skittles1/lexerkod#lexerkod

It should be stable but please report any bugs with the installer or plugin itself as issues on the GitHub Issues page. Can also leave feature requests or suggestions there.

Would advise anyone working with kod to download it, as the coloring and autocomplete will provide a lot of help in producing correct code.
